Our Mission Providing relationship and hope for people living on the margins, particularly those who are struggling with active addiction and unrecognized or untreated mental illness  both major contributing factors to homelessness.  What We Do We are a nonprofit organization in downtown Atlanta that offers 12-step recovery meetings Monday through Friday, a 12-step bible study, a clothing closet, justice and prisoner advocacy, overnight retreats, and collaboration with many of the organizations working with the homeless population.  Our Vision To build relationships through fellowship and community, respecting the value and dignity of every person and accepting them where they are while offering them the possibility of healing and change. Our Story
The seeds for Cause for Hope were planted in 2008 when several discrete ministries for unhoused people were operating out of a storefront church in downtown Atlanta. When the church lost its space in 2011 due to inadequate funding, these programs branched out on their own:  a vibrant addiction recovery program that also addresses mental health issues; an extensive clothing closet; prison and legal aid outreach. It was clear by the number of people who continued to participate in and benefit from these services that important needs in the neighborhood were being met. So in September 2013 the various programs came together under the umbrella of the non-profit, Cause for Hope.
The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, and deserted by everybody. The greatest evil is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference toward one's neighbor who lives at the roadside, assaulted by exploitation, corruption, poverty and disease.            −Mother Teresa
